Celebrating the order or the new customer

images.jpegRecently at All Business there was a very good article called “Do you Celebrate the Customer or the Order?” The article caused me to step back and consider the question as it applies to my own home based business and my own general attitude.

Take for example my own new home based business which has grown out of my own blogging experience. At G2 Web Media we are fortunate in the fact we are getting “new orders.” But it is more. The orders are really a side benefit to what is really going on. More important, we are building relationships with our customers. An order is a short-term benefit. The customer relationship is the lasting relationship we are building and it is that aspect of our business that will help us to continue to grow into the future.

So, “what are you celebrating in your home based business — the new orders or your new customer relationships?” I hope it is the customer relationships.
