Homeworkers were initially thought to be little more than lifestyle businesses, but that has now changed with more people moving into their homes as a full-time place of work. Also, many people want to get away from the 9-5 job and look to improve their existence. I wrote about this subject when I looked at the rise of the Alterpreneur for the Guardian newspaper. The research indicated that its the older generation (50 plus) who tend to start lifestyle businesses as they have few dependents, some cash to spend and a more relaxed outlook on life. I would certainly describe my business as a lifestyle enterprise as it allows me to do the work I love and pay my bills. You can't ask much more than that. Lifestyle entrepreneurs are certainly a growing band.
